The past few months have held quite a bit of change. If you have been following my blog, you know Chris and I have been moving into a minimalist mindset. We are now on the other side of actual moving. We officially closed on our house in Hutto on August 25th and moved into our townhome August 21st.
We now have a small, two bedroom where we actually use all of the space we have. Each space in our new townhome has a purpose. We still have some work to do getting rid of stuff. We just have/had so much! There are still items I see that I realize we don’t need, but that process will continue over the next few months now that we have settled in.
I thought I might have some form of regret or concern about leaving our first home and moving back into a rental property. Happily, I can announce that I have had ZERO regret! Chris says he feels the same. This has been one of the best decisions we have ever made, and we both feel so happy we had the guts to move forward with our plans even in the face of doubt from a few people around us.
As a result of our big decision to go minimal, we are officially debt free! YES! I said debt FREE! (except for our cars… which Dave Ramsey would say still counts…lol) The amount of mental freedom gained from this experience is truly indescribable.
But the best part of this process has been the notes I’ve been getting from friends saying I have inspired them to get rid of stuff! Wow! LOVE it! I’ve had a few friends tell me the process has really helped them feel free and has even helped their children feel better. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! Of course, I can’t take any of the credit. I’ve just been sharing, and I hope others will too! If our journey has inspired you, tell me about it and share it with others!
